Glycoalkaloids are a poisonous substance found in the twigs, leaves and seeds of
certain fruits and vegetables.
Glycoalkaloids are usually found at low levels. They can
be higher in certain cases if the vegetable is still:
• green
• damaged
• starting to sprout
High Glycoalkaloids levels can cause symptoms like abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhoea.
