That green tomatoes, sprouting potatoes as well as sweet potatoes are hazardous for consumption! Glycoalkaloids are a poisonous substance found in the twigs, leaves and seeds of certain fruits and vegetables.

• green
• damaged
• starting to sprout

  

High Glycoalkaloids levels can cause symptoms like abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhoea.
